Retired Captain Corey Clothier of the U.S. Marine Corps is co-founder and president of Saber Leadership. Corey has expert-level experience in building organizational development systems using blended technologies and is regarded by his peers as an outstanding coach, mentor, facilitator and program developer. He has a deep understanding of individual and team performance factors and knows how to help people achieve their best.
Throughout his school years, the Corps and in business, Corey has strived to excel as “team captain.” The Marine Corps helped Corey understand and practice leadership. At the beginning of his Marine Corps career, Corey was the Platoon Guide and Honorman in boot camp. During his time in the Corps, the principles of leadership became very clear. The guiding principles of the Corps, mission accomplishment, troop welfare and integrity, guided Corey from that point forward.
While in the Marines, Corey achieved meritorious promotions and a commission program, which helped him realize his dream of becoming a jet pilot. Corey graduated from Officer Candidate School as an honor graduate and achieved one of the highest recorded class rankings in his military alma mater, UCLA Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps. Corey finished his Marine Corps career as a Captain with 10 years of service. Additional accolades include the Battalion’s Outstanding Leadership Award, Society of Old Crowes Leadership Award and the Colonel Walker Leadership Award.
After the Marines, Corey quickly moved up the corporate ranks, in such companies as Wardcraft, Lear, Cosworth and DE-STA-CO, holding positions as program manager, director of marketing and vice president before the age of 30. These positions reinforced Corey’s goal of sharing the gift of leadership with Corporate America, and his dream of founding a leadership training company began.
Corey studied for an MBA and began honing his leadership and coaching skills through programs with Franklin Covey, Coaching U and the International Coach Academy. He founded Noble Training Solutions, an end-user biometric training company, with clients including the CIA, DEA, INS, FBI and dozens of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and correctional facilities. He also owned and co-founded Task Force 1, a dynamic experiential learning company based on military leadership principles, which later merged with Envision U. As the COO of Envision U, Corey led the development of new training and coaching systems, as well as a unique reality-based television show.
Corey lives in Brighton with wife Lisa. They have three children, Kelli, Katie and Cole.
